Spring Dance and Theatre Academy offers the opportunity for dancers to participate in several dance conventions and competitions throughout the season. Solos, duets, trios and small groups will be presented during our 2024-2025 season.

In keeping with our Spring philosophies, students participating with solos, duets or trios in competitions will be provided a weekly team session with Spring Inspires Team Director Abby King in order to provide group unity, promote teamwork and ensure clean technique and solid performance quality in our dancers. All solo, duet and trio team members are required to take our Competitive Team Specialty Class.

Solo, Duet, Trio (Specialty Routines)

• Weekly Spring Inspires Team Specialty Class on Tuesdays 7:30-8:30pm with Abby King is required.

• Three 30-minute private lessons with Amber Keeley are required throughout the season with at least one happening before your first performance.

• Team Specialty Class and 3 Private Lessons w/Amber fee: $70/month Sept-May

• You get to choose the choreographer. Our choreographers require choreography fees of $250-$400. This fee must be paid to your Spring account or via Venmo before choreography begins. You may choose to use outside choreographers or to do your own choreography as long as Abby and Amber approve the final work 60 days before your first performance.

• You set up your own private lesson schedule with your choreographer based on our open studio time. The amount of private lesson time you need is completely up to you. Private lesson rates run from $35-$60/30mins and must be paid to your Spring account or via Venmo before your lesson begins.

• Choreography must be completed 45 days before your first performance.

• Costumes chosen by November 1st.

• Registration by September 1st.

• Costumes are up to you and your choreographer. You can buy/rent/borrow what we have, order online or we can order from costume catalogs.

• Your choreographer will edit your music unless you prefer to. Music must be turned in to us in Mp3 format ASAP.

• We will register you for competitions. We will provide a list of competitions and conventions that Spring will attend. You may choose which ones you’d like to enter your specialty routine into. You are welcome to attend any competitions outside of that list, but there will not be a Spring representative with you. Fees for specialty routines at competitions outside of our list is $300.

Spring Inspires Team Group Dances

• We will be performing two group dances this year! Whitley Dahlhauser will be creating these pieces in Group Class on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30pm. This class is only open to Spring Inspires Team dancers who wish to compete in group numbers. You do NOT have to do a solo, duet or trio in order to be in these group dances.

• We will perform at three competitions this spring.

• Comp Group Class, 2 Costumes, 3 Competition fees: $104/mo Sept-May
